Mountaintop Scream

I’ve been reading and listening to podcasts about scream therapy for many years and have opted not to give it a shot until recently. As life has gotten happier and easier it’s also gotten stressful and more difficult and it seems this is just the never-ending roller coaster that is being a Mom/ a Sister/ a Daughter/ Human.

I’m currently struggling with anxiety related to the shop and my youngest child’s future. I also have a little perimenopause and politics sprinkled in to the mix, which doesn’t help at all.

I know lots of you can relate: I’m not sure if I’m doing everything I should be doing, I feel imposter syndrome creep in daily and I feel the rising costs of existing.

And for my son—I wonder if my son have the support he needs in Special Education moving in to this new era… Will he ever walk or talk? Will he ever feed himself?

It’s a lot to keep swirling around in your head and the best thing for me to do is to usually stay present and remind myself that we are safe and everything will be ok.

That being said….I want to explore scream therapy at this point. I think I need a big ole release with a safe group of people interested too…and what better people to ask than my sustainability-minded followers that are so supportive and always full of the best advice and listening ear.

Scream therapy, also known as primal scream therapy, is a form of emotional release that involves yelling or screaming to help process and let go of pent-up feelings like stress, anger, or frustration. By vocalizing intense emotions in a safe environment, it can relieve tension, lower cortisol levels (the stress hormone), and create a sense of emotional freedom. While it’s often done with a trained therapist as part of a structured program, even informal screaming sessions can provide a powerful release and a mood boost.

I would love for some of you to join me for a free and uplifting group scream session on top of a mountain with stunning views. This is not an official scream therapy session (I’m not a certified practitioner), but it’s a chance to gather in a supportive space and explore the powerful release that comes from a good, heartfelt scream.

My daughter and I were driving through the Mount Storm Windmill farm not too long ago and my idea for a scream-sesh came to life. I thought it was the perfect spot because you can’t disturb the peace with a giant whirring wind mill in the background. There is a scenic view area there that I think would be perfect for us to gather at.

What to expect:

  • You will receive e-mail updates about this meet-up. We will meet at 10am at the Broadway/Mauzy park-and-ride. You can hop in a car with empty seats or drive a group or yourself. Just please come willing to drive either way because it will be much more sustainable to carpool :)

  • A chance to share your feelings, or just scream it out—no pressure.

  • A fun, positive atmosphere where we embrace the catharsis and humor in yelling into the void.

💡 Optional Add-Ons: At checkout, you’ll have the chance to grab items like a cup of tea or a self care kit for when you get home.

RSVP now!
Together, we’ll turn our collective frustration into something loud, joyful, and liberating. Let’s scream it out!
